Western United Football Club adds a touch of style as it inks Kappa for their first season
Western United Football Club (WUFC) has today announced a new partnership with global sportswear manufacturer Kappa, with the iconic football brand revealed as the club’s official apparel partner.
The deal will see the Italian sportswear giant supply WUFC from July with home and away strips including training apparel for both players and club staff.
Instantly recognisable across the football world, Kappa has been the preference for some of the best players and biggest football teams. In 2019, WUFC will join the likes of Leeds United FC, Napoli FC, Torino FC as well as the recently announced iconic English football club, Aston Villa.
Beginning in Italy in 1967, Kappa has continuously produced a distinctive, slimline and quality garment for foot-ball, basketball, volleyball, auto racing, skiing, sailing, golf, fencing and martial arts. Its streetwear collec- tions also reflects its northern Italian roots.
Kappa’s “Omini” logo pictures the silhouette of a man and woman leaning against each other. It repre- sents the equality of men and women and their mutual support.
WUFC CEO Maurice Bisetto said that Kappa was a brand the club would be proud to wear on the pitch for its inagural season.
“WUFC is delighted to announce a partnership with a brand that boasts over 100 years of footballing his- tory,” Bisetto said. “As a new club in the Hyundai A-League we’ve got an opportunity to write a new piece of history and we need a quality product, with the right pedigree to help us do this.”
Kappa Australia CEO Ze’ev Bogaty said, “We are very pleased to be partnering with Western United Foot- ball Club and would like to thank Mr Bisetto and the team as we establish what we hope will become a strong, long-term and extremely beneficial partnership for both WUFC and Kappa.”
“The partnership is a fantastic opportunity to support the A-league’s newest club and its representatives on the national stage”
“We are working closely with Western United to develop an exciting range of on-and off-field merchan- dise that will be unveiled shortly.”
WUFC players will take to the training pitch in Kappa apparel once pre-season starts in July.
