Kick-off: 8:30pm

Last time out

Ante Moric’s side played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Melbourne City at ABD Stadium last Friday night.

In a topsy-turvy 90 minutes, United went 1-0 up inside 30 seconds, fell 2-1 behind and then equalised all before half-time.

When Nicolas Milanovic scored a tremendous volley in the 79th minute it looked like United had stolen all three points, but a last-gasp strike from City ensured the spoils were shared.

The point helped take United up to second on the table on goal difference after Doveton was defeated by Preston Lions at the top of the table.

The Opponent

Springvale has struggled so far this season with just one win, one draw and four losses across the six fixtures so far.

The biggest defeat was a 10-0 demolition against table-topping Preston in the second week of the season, but they did bounce back after that to beat Nunawading City 4-1.

White Eagles were unlucky not to pick up a point in their last match, going down 2-1 to Box Hill courtesy of a Stuart Edgar penalty in the 78th minute.

Season stats

United is undefeated through the first six games, though only half of those have been wins with the side yet to record consecutive victories.

Moric’s men have the third best record in the league for both goals scored (17) and goals conceded (9) and sit four points off top spot.

Milanovic is currently United’s top scorer with all five of his goals coming in the last two games, and he ranks equal-second in the league’s golden boot standings.

He will miss the clash though due to his commitment’s interstate with the A-League side, allowing Manyluak Aguek or Ayom Majok to take control of the front line.
