Connor Pain re-signs with the Green and Black

Connor Pain

Western United is pleased to announce the re-signing of wing-back Connor Pain.

Pain has extended his deal by two years, which will see him remain at the club until at least the end of the 2022/23 A-League season.

“I would like to thank the club for believing in me for the last two seasons as well as putting the faith in me for the next two. Having been a foundation player, I want to stay a big part of continuing to build the club,” said Pain.

“I try to enjoy coming in everyday as much as possible with a great bunch of boys and staff both in the football department and admin office.

“The club has generated a great culture since we started, and I am excited to be a part of the future of the club.

“I have loved my time at the club so far and I am looking forward to the future and hopefully challenging for silverware.”

Pain has been one of United’s most consistent players since joining for the club’s inaugural season in 2019.

He was awarded Western United runner-up player of the season for the 2019/20 season and has brought that form to this current campaign.

“Connor has been our most consistent performer over the last two seasons,” Head Coach Mark Rudan said.

“He’s excelled in a new role that he embraced. Getting Connor to re-sign with us was a priority and we are excited as a club to have one of, if not the best left sided wingbacks in the competition.

“Connor is a fantastic individual who has elevated his game to another level in our environment and will continue to grow and improve,” Rudan concluded.
