Western United make their Hyundai A-League debut on Sunday when they take on Wellington Phoenix.
The Green and Black have made some stellar signings in their first season, including two international marquees in Alessandro Diamanti and Panagiotis Kone, as well as the A-League’s all-time top scorer Besart Berisha.
Added to this, United’s exciting young stars will be doing all they can to break into Mark Rudan’s first XI.
United’s rising stars are sure to get the fans off their seats.
Dylan Pierias (19 years of age)
Pierias has that x-factor in Rudan’s midfield. The 19-year-old former Melbourne City player has energy and real quality on the ball.
Pierias is set to excite United’s fans this season.
Josh Cavallo (19-years-old)
A hard worker and technically proficient – he has a sweet left peg – Cavallo will be another to excite the fans. His goal in a pre-season friendly over Preston suggests this could be a very watchable season for the former Melbourne City player.
James Delianov (19-years-old)
Pushing Filip Kurto for the number one spot, Delianov is a sound shot-stopper who will be prepared to fill a void if need be.
His impressive performance in a pre-season fixture against North Geelong showed the young keeper’s capabilities.
Seb Pasquali (19-years-old)
Famously debuting against Juventus at the MCG as a 16-year-old – and catching the eye – Pasquali is back from his stint in Europe. The Olyroos midfielder will be an important player for the Green and Black this season.
Thierry Iradukunda (20-years-old) and Luke Duzel (17-years-old)
The club’s two scholarship players for the 2019/20 season, Iradukunda and Duzel will relish the opportunity to work alongside the squad’s big international and Australian names. Two potential stars of the future.
