It hasn’t taken long for Western United to impress some A-League fans in Wellington.

Ahead of United’s historic first-ever official game in the Hyundai A-League, Wellington “football tragic” Marc Capstick was more than happy to show off his new green and black jersey.

And he’ll be there later today as Phoenix host Western United.

“More teams the better, so I’m excited by Western United coming here as a new A-League club,” he told www.wufc.com.au

“I’m just a football tragic in many ways. And this new kit is very distinctive.

“It’s almost the anti-Phoenix with the green and black stripes. I like it and I like the logo too.”

Though being a Wellington local, and a football club chairman, he may have split allegiances when the two teams walk out for United’s historic first-ever official game in the A-League.

Mark from Wellington

“There’s a lot of hype around Wellington around this game. And Mark Rudan did wonderful things for the club here. I don’t have a bad word to say about him.

“He’s really passionate about football and gave a lot to Wellington and I have nothing but respect for him.

“And Andrew Durante is an absolute legend. He can do no wrong in this city.”

United go into today’s game in great spirits after last week’s excellent display in a 1-1 draw with Western Sydney Wanderers.
