Alessandro Diamanti has been selected in the Hyundai A-League Team of the Week for Round 2 after a dazzling display for Western United against reigning premiers Perth Glory on Saturday.
The Italian marquee seemed like he had the ball on a string for the second week in a row, touching the ball 81 times.
Teammate Dario Jertec was the only player to touch the ball more with 82.
Diamanti recorded a team-high number of crosses with six, while his passing and creativity in the middle of the park threatened the Glory all day long.
The former Italian international also threatened to score himself. His long-range effort in the second half almost found the bottom corner, only for Glory keeper Liam Reddy to pull off an impressive save.
