Julia Sardo is back at Western United for a third straight season with the foundation player committing for the 2024/25 Liberty A-League Women campaign.
The right-back relished a heightened role for the Green and Black last term, increasing her appearances, starts and minutes played from the previous year.
Her industrious style of play down the flank has made her a fan favourite in the Club’s first two seasons in the Liberty A-League, and the supporters will be delighted to watch her running the touchline at Ironbark Fields this season.

Continuing her journey in the West, Sardo said she is eager to get back in action in front of the Green and Black faithful.
“It means a lot to come back to Western for season three. Getting to the finals twice is a massive achievement, and we are all fueled up to win it this year,” she said.
“It’s going to be amazing to be able to play in front of our fans at our own home ground at Ironbark Fields. They are a big part of this group, without their support we wouldn’t be where we are.”
Western United General Manager of Football Mal Impiombato expressed his delighted at retaining another key foundation player in the Liberty A-League.
“Julia has been a significant part of our community since the beginning of our Liberty A-League journey and we are all delighted to have her commit for a third season,” he said.
“The respect that she commands from her peers, coaches and fans have made her a pivotal member of our Green and Black family, and I am greatly looking forward to watching Julia further her impact on our program in 2024/25.”
Sardo joins Melissa and Adriana Taranto in re-signing for Western United this week as Kat Smith continues to shape her squad for next season.
