Western United can provide an injury update across its Isuzu UTE A-League Men and Ninja A-League Women squads, presented by Strapit Medical & Sports Supplies.
Midfielder Sebastian Pasquali was substituted after a hefty challenge late in the first half of United’s 3-1 Isuzu UTE A-League win over Perth Glory last Friday.
Scans have revealed Pasquali has suffered a fractured fibula, with the No.21 likely to miss the next 4-6 weeks of action.
Pasquali will work with the Club’s medical department in order to return to the pitch as soon as possible.
Elsewhere in the men’s squad, Tomoki Imai has returned to training this week after missing the last two fixtures with a hip flexor issue.
The Japanese defender will be eager to step up his recovery in a bid to return to the matchday squad shortly.
Khoder Kaddour and James Donachie remain United’s only other long-term absentees as they recover from knee and calf injuries respectively.
John Aloisi’s men are finalising preparations for a huge Westgate Derby against Melbourne Victory on Sunday.
In the women’s space, Sandra Ibarguen is set for a month on the sidelines following the ankle injury she sustained in Round 3 against Melbourne Victory.
The positive news was that scans revealed the issue is not as serious as first feared, giving the Colombian the chance to complete her rehabilitation and return to the pitch before the new year.
Kat Smith’s squad is almost at full strength with Adriana Taranto the only other player on the treatment table, although she is ramping up her recovery from an ACL injury.
With no matches this weekend due to the international break, the women’s team will be gearing up for a grudge match against Sydney FC on Sunday 8 December.
Everyone at Western United wishes Sebastian and Sandra the very best in their respective recoveries and looks forward to seeing them return to the pitch as soon as possible.
