Western United kick on the pitch returns at Ironbark Fields

Western United Community Round

Western United fans will have another special opportunity to follow in the footsteps of their heroes with a ‘kick on the pitch’ activation on Saturday 8 March.

Following the Green and Black’s Isuzu UTE A-League Men clash against Wellington Phoenix, fans will be welcomed onto the hallowed Ironbark Fields turf to meet the Western United stars and have a post-game runaround.

As United continues to grow its footprint in the West and create a hub for the community at Ironbark, these chances to connect and grow as a footballing family are priceless.

The final home match of last season and the first home fixture of this season – against Adelaide United and Western Sydney Wanderers, respectively – proved the power of the Green and Black family when the supporters were welcomed onto the pitch.

Fans will have the chance to get up close and personal with their favourite players with signatures and selfies to remember for a lifetime.

This Saturday’s affair will have an even more special meaning as it comes as part of the Westside Together Community Round.

Western United is inviting everyone from junior clubs, schools, academies and social groups in the West to be part of the festivities.

There’s a crossbar challenge pre-game, football inflatables, spectacular food and beverage options and an amazing march pass at half-time where junior representatives will fly the flag of their group and be presented in front of the Tarneit crowd.

All of that sets up the best day out in the West, and that’s not even touching on the huge 90 minutes of football.

John Aloisi’s men are flying in the Isuzu UTE A-League, sitting in second on the table and playing some of the most exciting football in the country with a dynamic young squad.

Noah Botic leads the league with 10 goals scored, Angus Thurgate is locking down the midfield and 17-year-old sensation Dylan Leonard has everyone on notice at centre-back.

A win against the Nix would be a third in a row for the Green and Black as the boys remain on the hunt for a spot in the finals and a special ending to this season.

There’s no better place to be for an incredible day of football and community connection.

Lock in your tickets now and get loud for the Green and Black.
