Western United fans can have their say on the 2024/25 season with fan voting open for this year’s Gala awards night.
It’s been a memorable season from start to finish for United, marking the Club’s first season permanently at Ironbark Fields in Tarneit.
The Green and Black army have been treated to some scintillating football in the West with both Isuzu UTE A-League Men and Ninja A-League Women sides making the finals series in the same season for the first time.
Along the way there have been a host of starring performances, breakout talents and majestic goals for members and fans to vote on for the Fans’ Player of the Season and Fans’ Goal of the Season awards.
VOTE NOW for the men’s Fans’ Player of the Season
In John Aloisi’s men’s side, midfield duo Angus Thurgate and Rhys Bozinovski have enjoyed incredible seasons.
Combining for seven goals and six assists and running the middle of the pitch week in, week out, Thurgate and Bozinovski will be leading contenders to take out the Fans’ Player of the Season.
Noah Botic will be in the mix after a stellar campaign up front, as will strike partner Hiroshi Ibusuki and youngster Dylan Leonard who emerged as one of the competition’s very best centre-backs, remarkably in his first season as a professional.
On the goal front, of the record-breaking 55 goals scored there were some belters along the way. Botic and Abel Walatee netted some stunners across the year and each feature twice in the top five.
Those goals will have to compete with Jordan Lauton’s exceptional bicycle kick against Perth Glory which is sure to be the favourite to take out the award.
For Kat Smith’s Ninja A-League team there was a mix of existing names and new faces that made their mark across the campaign.
Chloe Berryhill continued to show her class with seven goals, Catherine Zimmerman was lethal up front and Melissa Taranto was ever reliable in midfield for Western United.
In their first seasons at Western United, Isabel Dehakiz and Sasha Grove could also be in the mix to receive the fans’ votes.

The goals flew in for the women as well, and this section will certainly divide opinion with some equally brilliant goals in the running.
Grace Maher continued her knack for scoring incredible goals with a bullet in Unite Round against Newcastle Jets and a spectacular Olimpico against Perth Glory.
Zimmerman’s sizzler against Canberra, Melissa Taranto’s belter against Western Sydney Wanderers and a Berryhill screamer at Melbourne City round out the top five.
