It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a valued volunteer in our Western United family, Phil Caruso, who passed away in hospital on Sunday evening surrounded by loved ones.
We extend our heartfelt condolences and send our thoughts, love and strength to all of Phil’s family, friends at this unimaginably difficult time.
Phil became an important member of the Western United family in recent months, providing vital assistance across the club during this difficult period. Phil left a positive and lasting impression on all who worked with and knew him through his friendly disposition, generosity and willingness to help in any situation.
Players will wear black armbands this weekend as a sign of respect for Phil, with a minute’s silence to take place before kick-off in Monday night’s VPL Men 1 fixture against Melbourne Victory.
Rest In Peace, Phil.
