Western United is pleased to announce that Andrew Durante will play on in season 2020/21.
‘Dura’ will sit at the heart of United’s defence for another season after signing a new one-year deal with the Club.
The experienced defender is looking forward to another season with the Green and Black.
“I’m really excited to be signing on for another season,” Durante said.
“We have a really special group of players and staff here and for me it’s a joy and a privilege to come into training everyday and push myself and the others around me.
“I can’t wait to get going again and continue to help grow this football club to achieve success both on and off the park.”
Durante currently holds the record for most A-League games played with 339.
The 2008 Joe Marston Medallist is set to add to his tally in what will be his 16th A-League season.
GM Football Ante Kovacevic said it was an easy decision to re-sign the experienced defender.
“Durante’s record speaks for itself. His longevity in the game is a benefit to the club on and off the field,” Kovacevic said
“He was ever present in the starting 11 throughout last season, and it was a simple decision to ensure Andrew was part of our team for a second year.
“His professionalism, experience and leadership qualities are important amongst our younger players and the team as a whole as we continue to develop and strive for finals football once again. ”
Durante and Western United will return to training next week ahead of the 2020/21 A-League season.
