Western United striker Besart Berisha was delighted with his side’s performance over the Central Coast Mariners on Sunday saying the 3-0 win was “disciplined and structured”.
United returned to winning ways in Geelong after a three-goal first half was enough to see off Alen Stajcic’s men.
The star striker, whose brace made took him to eight goals for the season, was delighted with the result and how his side performed.
“I thought today we played really well – three points and I think we couldn’t have started better,” Berisha told Fox Sports post-match.
“I think when we play like this, very disciplined, structured, moving the ball really well like today, we have a great chance.
“We should feel good about the way we played and hopefully we can continue that.”
United will shift their focus to next week’s game against Adelaide United, which will see A-League football at VU Whitten Oval for the first time.
And Berisha hopes his partner in crime Alessandro Diamanti will available.
Shortly after providing a classy assist for Berisha’s first goal, the start Italian picked up an injury and was replaced by Dario Jertec.
“I hope ‘Alino’ is back. Obviously today he was a little bit injured,” Berisha added.
“Hopefully he will be available for the Australia Day game against Adelaide.”
Berisha is set to play his 200th A-League game when he lines up against the Reds this Sunday.
