Catherine Zimmerman will go out as a Western United favourite with the American striker set to depart the Club for an opportunity at home in the United States.
Zimmerman leaves the Ninja A-League Women as a two-time Champion with 21 goals in 61 total appearances.
22 of those 61 games came with the No.34 on her back at Western United where Zimmerman scored seven goals and provided four assists.
An outstanding 2024/25 campaign saw Zimmerman claim the Western United Player of the Season award, ensuring she departs the Club on a considerable high.

After confirming her move abroad, Zimmerman sent a heartfelt message to the Club and its fans for the last two years.
“Reflecting on my two seasons at Western, I’m first and foremost proud of the team and so appreciative of the efforts everyone put in day in, day out,” she said.
“Although there’s been highs and lows during both seasons, I’m thankful I got to play for this Club and I’m especially thankful for all the memories on and off the field with my teammates, who have become some of my best friends.
“I’d like to thank my teammates, coaches, medical staff and technical staff for all of their continuous efforts – they always go above and beyond for the players and I’m so appreciative of that.
“Thank you, Western United, and good luck in the coming seasons.”
Western United General Manager of Football Mal Impiombato hailed Zimmerman as one of the modern stars of the Ninja A-League.
“Zim has been such an incredible contributor to this competition over a number of years and it is a bitter-sweet feeling to say goodbye,” he said.
“She has left a significant mark on our Club over the past two seasons both with her accomplishments on the pitch and her impact on the culture and values of our program.
“We are indebted to Zim’s efforts in the Green and Black and we wish her every success at home in the United States.”
Zimmerman’s legacy is cemented at Western United as she embarks on the next chapter of her footballing career back home.
Western United will continue building its squad for the 2025/26 Ninja A-League season with five players already confirmed, including Kiara De Domizio whose re-signing was confirmed yesterday.
