Tomorrow marks a calendar month till Western United’s historic first home game of the Hyundai A-League season.

United face Wellington Phoenix away in Round 1 on October 13.

Then, it’s the historic first home game on Saturday, October 19, kick-off 5.15pm at GMHBA Stadium.

In this history-making match, United faces a huge test against reigning Hyundai A-League Premiers Perth Glory, coached by Tony Popovic.

The first home game is followed by Western United’s first Melbourne Derby, against City on October 27 also at GMHBA Stadium.

Meanwhile, Western United’s pre-season preparations continued today (Wednesday) with a hard session in the autumnal sun at their impressive Caroline Springs training base.

Mark Rudan’s men face Adelaide United in Ballarat this week in another tough test ahead of the new Hyundai A-League season.

“One of our values is about growth,” head coach Mark Rudan says.

“We want to grow the club and we want to grow as individuals.

“And hopefully, the fans, too.

“Togetherness is another important value as far as we’re concerned.”
