Dodo’s Delights joins Western United family after winning Top Corner promotion

Western United would like to celebrate and congratulate Dodo’s Delights, a West Footscray café that has won Western United’s Top Corner promotion.

The Top Corner campaign allowed businesses in the west to pitch themselves to the Club to go into the running to win a Western United partnership valued at $50,000 for the 2021/22 season.

Around 40 businesses from five LGA’s in the west joined the running for the partnership, with three finalists being selected at the end of October.

A vote was put to supporters of the Club to choose between the final three, with Dodo’s Delights receiving the most votes.

The café is owned and managed by Ronda and Lee, a mother and son partnership from the western suburbs with a passion for serving the community.

Lee said the opportunity to partner with Western United will provide a big boost to their business coming out of the difficult COVID-19 period.

“It means so much to join the WUFC family. The chance to partner with the club will be a huge opportunity for us,” he said.

“After the challenges of recent times, it will be great to get the word out about our little café through this partnership.

“We’re looking forward to coming on board and partnering with the club through this next stage of growth for both of us.”

Dodo’s Delights offers food and coffees but also has catering services for events and parties and a selection of homemade jams and marmalades.

The café’s website houses all of Ronda’s original, homemade recipes for patrons to try themselves at home, emphasising the commitment to bring quality food and service to all people in the west.

Ronda and Lee are hoping to grow their brand with a second café in the Wyndham catchment area as well as a restaurant that brings all kinds of modern cuisine to the west.

JConcepts Timber Floors earned the second most votes and has received a partnership worth $10,000 which will include access to Chairman’s Club and business networking events.

Jay Stewart runs the family business from Sayers Road in Tarneit and will look to continue to grow in the west with support from the Club partnership.

The second runner-up is DZLA, a clothing company run by Darren Woolford and his family out of their home in Altona.

DZLA will receive a $2,500 Western United partnership which will support the company continue its mission to support a number of environmental and charitable causes alongside sales.

Western United wishes to thank all businesses that entered the competition and the over 500 fans that voted for their ideal winner. Further details will come for the draw to a win a signed Western United ball for all those who voted.

The Top Corner promotion has been incredibly successful and the Club looks forward to running it again in a number of other regions important to its fanbase.
