Western United’s new pop up shop is where the club’s fans are flocking for merchandise – and a chat with us!

Meet long-time Besiktas fan and new Western United supporter Sinan Seren.

The Point Cook resident was buying his merch at Western United’s new pop up shop at Truganina (L2, Palmers Gateway, 203-215 Palmers Rd) today.

“I’ve followed Besiktas since I was a kid. They are a huge club and from there on grew my passion for football,” he told www.wufc.com.au

“When I first heard about Western United I didn’t realize that Ersan Gulum was going to play for the club.

“When I found out Ersan was part of the club I thought ‘I’ll definitely look into it’.

“And I decided to do it, pick up a membership and now I’ve got a shirt and some other merchandise for my son and wife.

“My son is growing up and I know Western United want to grow the supporter base in the West, not just in one particular area,” he added.

The Black Eagles hold a special place in the defender’s heart where he was for six years over two spells from 2011 to 2017.

The Melbourne-born defender, now 32, was part of the Besiktas side that won the Super Lig in 2016 and 2017.

The fans loved him in Instanbul and that is transferring across with his new Western United fans.

“Ersan has an excellent work ethic and I wanted to thank him for everything he did at Besiktas over the years,” added Sinan.

Sinan will be at Western United’s first home game on October 19 at GMHBA Stadium (5.15KO)  in Geelong against Perth Glory. Will you?
