The school holidays are here and it’s the perfect time to get the kids involved in some Western United football fun.
Across the two weeks, we have a load of activities that the whole family can enjoy, getting outside, staying active and meeting the Western United footballers out and about in the West.
It’s going to be WU-mazing!
Here’s what’s on:
WUFC Academy Development Centres
Our WUFC Academy Development Centre is hosting five football intensive camps at Ironbark Fields and in Geelong these school holidays.
These camps are designed as an additional training program for players aged 9-13 with the opportunity for our club to work with young players from the West.
The United Football Program
The United Football Program school holiday camps are taking place at four community clubs in the West over the holiday period. Barnstoneworth United, Truganina Lions, Melton Phoenix, and Swan Hill.
The program enhances your football skills in a dynamic and engaging environment, allowing you to love playing the game and meet new friends.
Shopping Centres in the west
We have already been to Riverdale Shopping Centre, Tarneit Central and now we’re at Manor Lakes.
We’ll have membership and merch and free giveaways across the day, so pop down and say hello to us on Thursday 26 September.
A-League Men Open Training
Western United will host its first Isuzu UTE A-League Men open training session at Ironbark Fields on Thursday 3 October, with a special opportunity for you to be involved.
Not only will you get the chance to watch John Aloisi’s side at work and to meet all of the Green and Black stars after training, but you can also have the players repping your local club.
Western United Cup
After a record-setting Western United Cup in 2023, the girls-only football tournament will head back to Ballarat to reach new targets in 2024.
The tournament is pencilled in for Friday 4 October through to Sunday 6 October at Ballarat Regional Soccer Facility, marking the third edition of the ever-growing competition.
Picnic at the Pitch
Western United will welcome one and all to the home of entertainment in the West with the inaugural Picnic at the Pitch family day event at Ironbark Fields.
Taking place on Saturday 12 October, the event will bring the Green and Black community together for a host of activities, performances, food and football fun. A celebration of football, family and our beloved western community.
