Western United head coach Mark Rudan spoke on 1116 SEN this morning ahead of his side’s Australia Day clash with Adelaide United.
After playing home games in Geelong and Ballarat, United are set to bring A-League football to the inner west when it takes on the Reds at VU Whitten Oval in Footscray this Sunday.
“Part of our template as a football club and what we wanted to do is broaden our horizon and grow the game in the west,” Rudan told SEN’s Terry Wallace.
“Whitten Oval is another venue for us to take the game to the fans.
“Living in that corridor I know a lot of the fans are excited about the game at Whitten Oval.”
