History is just six days away! Western United will play its first official Hyundai A-League game this Sunday in Wellington.

United travel to New Zealand in round 1 of Season 2019/20, aiming to start the season with a bang after an eye-catching 1-1 draw with Western Sydney Wanderers in their final lead-up friendly in Geelong on Saturday.

The Green and Black will be ready for a big crowd at Westpac Stadium, a venue a number of United players know well. 

Max Burgess, Andrew Durante and A-League Goalkeeper of the Year Filip Kurto all crossed the Tasman to be part of United’s inaugural season.

Meanwhile, Head Coach Mark Rudan also traded yellow for green after taking Wellington to their first finals appearance in four seasons last campaign.

Rudan’s side will go into the match full of confidence, with their two international marquees Panagiotis Kone and Alessandro Diamanti showing strong pre-season form, while new signing Dario Jertec impressed during the club’s friendly against Western Sydney.

Western United will take on Wellington this Sunday with the match broadcast live on Fox Sports.
