Hit the Crossbar and Win for your Community Club

Ahead of the Isuzu UTE A-League Men United v Wellington home match this Saturday, we’re calling on all the junior footballers of the west to step up to the spot and take part in the Westside Together Crossbar Challenge!

This Saturday’s home fixture at Ironbark is shaping up to be an unforgettable day of football, fun, and community spirit and we’ve got an exciting challenge lined up for our youngest fans!

Between 5pm and 6pm on Saturday, kids will have the chance to test their skills in the Westside Together Crossbar Challenge on Pitch 3 at Ironbark Fields.

How It Works

Here’s how to get the kids involved:

Head to Pitch 3 before the match, to the crossbar activation area. Each junior will get one change to take aim at the crossbar. If the crossbar is hit, two things will happen.

  1. The junior participant will go into the draw to win a Western United home kit, signed by the boys in green.  The winner will be randomly selected from all the kids that hit the crossbar.  Our MC, Matt Worland will announce the winner during the half-time break of the main match.
  2. You can nominate your local club by writing their name on a piece of paper and entering it into the challenge box at the activation. The community club with the most nominations will win a prize valued at $400 from Western United partner, Harvey Norman.

Be Part of Something Bigger

The Westside Together Community Round is all about celebrating the grassroots clubs and passionate footballers who make Melbourne and Victoria’s west a football heartland. From fun activities to special matchday experiences, the day is packed with opportunities for young players and fans to get involved.

So grab your tickets, get the kids practicing this week, and we’ll see you on Pitch 3 for the Crossbar Challenge!
