Western United Isuzu UTE A-League Men captain Josh Risdon today issued the below message to the Club’s fans after witnessing a superb start to the new A-Leagues season.
Hi all,
With round one complete, we are starting this exciting season on a high.
Saturday we celebrated our first win and on Sunday I was there to witness a thrilling win from the women to top off a great weekend.
After the game my son and I were invited to sing the song and celebrate with the women’s team. This was a special moment and I found myself reflecting on just how far this club has grown since day one when I arrived. The togetherness shown by the teams and staff is nothing I’ve experienced before.
I’m honoured to be captain of this club and I promise to help lead the team to further success in a way our fans can be proud of.
The countdown is on as our home out in Tarneit is nearly complete. This means both our men’s and women’s teams will be playing out west where our home fans are. I can speak from myself and the team when I say how eager we are to have our own base and share this space with our fans.
The best time to join is now, get ready for an amazing season and get behind us.
