VU Whitten Oval will host Hyundai A-League football for the first time ever when Western United and Adelaide United go head-to-head this Sunday.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the clash in Footscray.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate on match day. If you purchase your tickets online, you may select to have them posted or emailed to you as a ‘Print at Home Ticket’.
It is recommended you print your ticket to help avoid delays.

VU Whitten Oval is a 5 minute walk from West Footscray station.
Tram
By tram from the city, catch the #57 West Maribyrnong service. The #57 links at Maribyrnong Road with the #82, which passes within a block of the ground.

409; Yarraville – Footscray, 410; Sunshine – Footscray, 411; Laverton Railway Station – Altona Meadows – Altona – Footscray (via Millers Road), 412; Altona Meadows – Altona – Footscray (via Mills Street), 414; Laverton South – Laverton – Footscray.
Members and fans bus
Western United have arranged a bus to transport members and fans from Geelong to Footscray, beginning at Barwon Heads and stopping at GMHBA Stadium, North Geelong Station and VU Whitten Oval.
To arrange a roundtrip ticket for the bus, follow these steps:
- Download and sign up to the XEMO app on your smartphone
- Select your preferred Pick up location. If you can’t already see the WUFC Bus Route on the map, select the “Routes” tab
- Select your trip date (26/01/20)
- Select your desired number of tickets
- Confirm your booking
Parking
Limited street parking is available in the area surrounding VU Whitten Oval.
Pre Match
Join the Western Service Crew before the match at the Victoria Hotel in Footscray, between 12pm and 5pm. Use the opportunity to learn our chants, meet fellow fans and soak up the full match day experience.

Merchandise
Deck yourself out in Western United’s green and black, with merchandise stores found at Gate 1, Gate 3 and inside the main entrance.

First aid is located at the Cross Street end of the ground. Fans are reminded to stay cool and to wear sun protection on match day.
Bag Policy
All bags including handbags are subject to checks by security before entering the venue and individuals 13 years and over may be scanned.
Smoking Regulations
Please note that smoking, which includes the use of electronic cigarettes, is prohibited within the stadium grounds.
