The Match:  Western United v Melbourne City

Western United vs Melbourne City brought great drama last season, and this clash is expected to be exactly the same with two top teams going head-to-head against each other.

The Green and Black prevailed in two thrilling contests last season with 3-1 and 2-1 wins at AAMI Park. Chloe Logarzo scored an incredible brace in the first meeting, and the Matildas star is fit and firing again and hoping to open her account for the new campaign.

City have kicked their season off with two wins from two and have some of the most exciting players in the league with Holly McNamara, Rhianna Pollicina and Hannah Wilkinson all posing a threat to United’s back line.

Western United fans will be eagerly waiting to see if Hillary Beall returns to the line-up after her return was confirmed this week, while young gun Avaani Prakash will be eying a professional debut in Green and Black.

It all makes for a mouthwatering clash at City Vista with superstar talent on both sides and two teams desperate for a win against a crosstown rival.
