Western United: WLWDW
Adelaide United: LDWDL
Western United entered the top six last week with a 2-0 win against Newcastle Jets, courtesy of a Nikolai Topor-Stanley own goal and a second-half strike from Dylan Pierias.
United has lost just once in their last six matches and sit in sixth as a result, one point clear of Brisbane Roar.
Adelaide tasted defeat against Wellington Phoenix on Sunday, but the Reds remain in fourth on the table and are within a win of top spot.
A win for United would take them above the Reds on goal difference.
Previous Meetings
The sides have not met since the opening day of the season, neither team able to break the deadlock in a 0-0 draw at GMHBA Stadium.
That clash was a rarity compared to the two meetings of last season, with goals galore in both – United 5-1 in Adelaide in March after a seven-goal thriller in January ended 4-3 to the Reds.
What Mark Rudan is saying
On Adelaide
“They’ve obviously got players that can hurt you, they’ve got pace, they like to make forward runs and we’ve got to make sure that we are wary of their front line.”
On current run of form
“We’re playing some really good football, and we’ve just got to keep staying there. We can’t be complacent; we need to stay focused and concentrated.”
