Western United continued its strong pre-season form with a 2-1 win over Melbourne City in a behind-closed-doors friendly at City Football Academy.
A defensive error by Melbourne City saw United take the lead on 30 minutes, before the hosts pulled one back just after half-time through Ramy Najjarine.
United regained the lead with half an hour to play when Valentino Yuel pounced on a scramble, making it four goals in as many pre-season games for the 24-year-old.
City pushed for an equaliser but United were able to hold on for its first win against A-League opposition.
Western United will travel to Ballarat where they will take on Adelaide United on the 21st of September, before facing A-League champions Sydney FC on the 27th.
