Western United were looking for consecutive wins when they traveled to Brisbane to take on Robbie Fowler’s Roar.
United got off to the perfect start at Suncorp Stadium. Alessandro Diamanti found Connor Pain with an inch-perfect cross who finished past Jamie Young.
Former Roar man Besart Berisha doubled the visitors’ lead just before the break, getting on the end of a delightful Aaron Calver ball.
The Green and Black were defensively solid throughout the second half and held on for the 2-0 win.
