Western United are excited to participate in the Australian Government’s Sporting Schools initiative that brings sport to your school.

WUWU School’s IN football clinic is a collaborative and nurturing program that is delivered by Western United’s accredited coaches who make sure the sessions are engaging and most importantly fun for all involved.

“Everyone at Western United FC is so excited about the new funding round opening,” Western United CEO Chris Pehlivanis said.

“Already, in the equivalent of just two school terms, we’ve visited over 20 schools, ran 208 sessions and trained over 2,400 kids.

“While this is a great start, we’re ambitious and want to get out to every school in the west.

“The Australian Government Sporting School’s program is invaluable to us and we’re excited to be part of it for term three funding, I encourage every school in the west to apply for this and join the Western United family.”

Based on FFA recommendations, each session is structured as follows:

  • Introduction to the program.
  • A warm-up game to kick off the fun.
  • A skill-based activity focused on the 4 fundamental core skills of football: 1st touch, running with the ball, striking the ball and 1v1.
  • Game on! The program ends with the children playing a fun game of football demonstrating their new skills.

School's In
