The stat that shows Josh Risdon’s offensive threat

Socceroo Josh Risdon’s form this season has been eye-catching for Western United.

And the attack-minded defender’s stats back up that claim.

Last week, Risdon arrived back from Socceroo duty in Jordan on the day of the Jets game and was a star in the clash.

His energy and desire have been a key feature for United.

Here are four key stats ahead of Sunday’s clash in Gosford between the Green and Black and the Mariners, including one on the 27-year-old Bunbury, WA talent.

  • This will be the first A-League meeting between Central Coast Mariners and Western Untied FC; indeed, it will be United’s first visit to New South Wales in the competition.
  • Western United have won each of their two away games in the A-League thus far, each time by a margin of just one goal.
  • Alessandro Diamanti has made 20 total shots from outside the box this A-League campaign; only one player has made more shots in total from anywhere on the park (Adam Le Fondre – 26).
  • Josh Risdon has created the equal-sixth most chances in the competition this season (12).
