Registrations are coming in from across Victoria as teams commit to participate in the upcoming Western United Cup.
The women and girls only tournament is set to take place at Morshead Park in Ballarat from Thursday September 29 to Saturday October 1.
The Western United Cup will feature competitions open to girls from Under 9’s up to an open age group, with winners crowned on the final day before a special opportunity to watch Western United’s A-League Women team play in its first friendly match.
A number of club’s around the state are getting excited for tournament, which will bring the perfect end to the 2022 grassroots season.
“Our girls are excited about playing against and meeting teams from across Victoria. They’re also really looking forward to experience Ballarat with their teammates,” said Nicholas Tzaferis, coach of Brighton Apollos who have entered into the Under 9/10 division.
Brighton Apollos are one of 12 clubs in Victoria that have already signed up for the tournament and are looking to show their talent over the course of the weekend.
Caroline Springs George Cross FC has entered three teams for the weekend, one each in the Under 9/10, Under 11/12 and Under 13/14 competitions.
Ballarat Soccer Club and Avondale FC are ready for the Under 15/16 competition, as are Surf Coast FC from Torquay.
Gisborne Soccer Club, F90 Football Academy and Macedon Rangers Soccer Club are locked in along with Sunshine Heights Junior Soccer Club across the Under 11/12 and Under 13/14 divisions.
Williams Landing Football Club and West Point Soccer Club are also gearing up for the tournament having already registered to compete.
Registrations remain open, but time is running out for clubs to submit their teams to take advantage of this special opportunity with Western United.
