The United Football Program branching out over July school holidays

The United Football Program (TUFP) will be coming to Point Cook Soccer Club and Calder United this week for school holiday football camps.

Point Cook SC has joined the program as a partner club and will host a two-day clinic at Saltwater Reserve from 9am to 3pm on Tuesday July 5 and Wednesday July 6.

The clinic is open to boys and girls from six to 14 years of age and is open to players of all skill levels, from junior participants to representative players.

Another holiday camp at Calder United will follow on Thursday July 7 and Friday July 8, meaning it is the best way for young kids to round out the school holidays.

Just as at Point Cook, the camp is open to girls and boys of all levels of playing experience between the ages of six and 14, and this will be hosted by Calder at Keilor Park Recreation Reserve.

Calder United has also been taking part in the program’s Training Squad offering. TUFP offers six-week training programs of one 90-minute session per week over the course of the six-week period, and the young girls at Calder United have already been reaping the benefits.

All participants receive a TUFP playing kit to wear for the program and to keep afterwards, marking them as members of the Western United family.

The two-day camps are designed to be fast-paced and full of football fun, allowing the players to meet new friends, improve their football skills and learn to play in the United Way.

Participants will also be able to get up close and personal with the A-League Men Championship trophy and learn from senior NPL players at Western United and Calder United.

These camps follow successful clinics at Williamstown Soccer Club, with a pilot program taking place in mid-April before a second camp in the first week of school holidays in June-July.

In addition to that, TUFP will be crossing the Bass Strait to deliver four camps at clubs in Tasmania later in July.

Clinics will take place at Clarence Zebras Football Club, Hobart City Beachside Football Club, Riverside Olympic Football Club and Launceston United Soccer Club.
