Three Western United Liberty A-League fixture changes confirmed

Western United A-League Women

Western United will play two home Liberty A-League Women games in a matter of days in the West, taking on Sydney FC at City Vista Pavilion and Sports Field on Wednesday January 11.

That is one of three fixture changes that Australian Professional Leagues (APL) has announced for the Green and Black.

It means that after almost two months between home matches, Western United fans will be able to support the team twice in quick succession as it seeks to continue its stellar start to the campaign.

Sydney FC are currently one of two teams equal with United on 15 points at the top of the table, making next Wednesday’s clash one not to be missed for fans in the West.

As a result of that fixture becoming a United home game, the reverse meeting between the two sides on Sunday March 5 will now be a Sydney FC home match at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.

That fixture is set up to be a crucial one, with just three games remaining in the regular season after it and both sides hoping to still be in the mix at the top of the table.

While the March 5 fixture was originally scheduled to be at Morshead Park in Ballarat, the previously postponed meeting against Newcastle Jets will replace it to ensure that the Green and Black family still have two opportunities to watch Mark Torcaso’s side.

In fact, the Ballarat faithful can watch United’s women twice in five days as Chloe Logarzo, Hannah Keane and co. face the Jets on Wednesday February 8 following a meeting with Perth Glory on Saturday February 4, also at Morshead Park.

Ballarat fans will have elite football to watch every month until the end of the regular season with Isuzu UTE A-League Men matches in January, March and April, and two huge Liberty A-League matches now locked in for early February.

For now, all attention will turn to United’s return home on Saturday January 7 as the Green and Black army welcomes Wellington Phoenix to the West.
