Western United Player of the Year, Tomoki Imai, has committed to playing on with the Green and Black until at least the end of the 2023/24 A-League season.
“I’m happy to commit to the club for the next three years,” expressed Imai.
“I’ll do my best to compete for the championship next season. I would like to say thank you again to my teammates, staff and fans who always support me.”
Imai was recently voted the Club’s Player of the Season as well as Fan’s Player of the Season following an outstanding 2020/21 campaign that saw him play every minute of every match.
Western United Head of Football Operations Mal Impiombato said re-signing the Japanese star is a huge boost for the club.
“We are thrilled that Tomoki has committed to Western United for another three years.
“Tomoki has played a key role at our club both on and off the field. He possesses the leadership qualities, commitment and drive to succeed that we expect at Western United FC.
“Tomoki showed this season that he is one of the competition’s key defenders and we are delighted to have him continue his journey with our club.”
The versatile defender joined Western United midway through its inaugural season in 2020 and has been an integral player for the Club.
