Western United Football Club today can announce two changes to the football department staff.
Assistant coach John Hutchinson and player Connor Chapman will depart the club this week.
Hutchinson, a former Malta international and A-League stalwart at Central Coast Mariners will move to an overseas club in a coaching capacity.
“As a club we understand talented Aussie coaches and players wanting to test themselves overseas. Football is a global game and we’ll never stand in their way,” said Western United CEO Chris Pehlivanis.
“We thank both John and Connor for their contribution in this historic first season at our club.”
Hutchinson thanked Western United for the opportunity and wished the club the best for this season and beyond.
“Firstly, I want to thank head coach Mark Rudan and the entire club for giving me this amazing opportunity. It’s been a fantastic first season and I wish the club and all the boys the very best for the season. I’ll forever be a supporter of the green and black,” Hutchinson said.
Chapman, pending a medical, will join the Korean K2 side Daejeon Citizen FC as they prepare for the 2020 season.
