Western United will kick off the all-new 2024/25 Ninja A-League Women season with a bang after the fixture was released on Thursday.
The Green and Black will open with two straight Friday night blockbusters at home at Ironbark Fields, kicking off against Wellington Phoenix on 1 November and Central Coast Mariners on 8 November.
Those two games will lead Kat Smith’s side into a first derby fixture of the season with an away trip to face Melbourne Victory before Unite Round sees the side take on Newcastle Jets before the first FIFA international break.
Immediately after that break, United will welcome Sydney FC to the West for the second time since the Club entered the women’s competition.
The highlights of the season will be the visits of Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City to Tarneit, the first two confirmed Melbourne derby clashes at Ironbark Fields.
City will be first up with a Friday night summer sizzler on Friday 17 January before a titanic battle against Victory on Saturday 1 March, with the Green and Black eager to maintain unbeaten records against both local rivals.
United’s final home match of the season will be in the penultimate round on Saturday 12 April against Adelaide United, while there is also one double header confirmed to close out 2024 with both men’s and women’s sides to take on Brisbane Roar on Sunday 29 December.
With a new naming rights partner, the fixture locked in and United’s squad further bolstered by the return of Matildas superstar Chloe Logarzo, the countdown is well on to the beginning of the 2024/25 Ninja A-League season.
