Heading into a huge second half of the season, Western United can confirm a number of updates to both home and away fixtures in the Liberty A-League Women.
The Green and Black is set for a string of home matches in the coming weeks and the passionate fanbase will continue to be in full voice at City Vista Pavilion and Sports Field.
Following United’s match against Central Coast Mariners in Hobart, which was announced last week, the side will play back-to-back blockbuster fixtures at City Vista to build momentum into the end of the campaign.
The Round 16 clash against Brisbane Roar has moved to a super Sunday fixture with a 5:00pm kick-off on 11 February.
Kat Smith’s side will then take to the pitch in the exact same time slot a week later against Wellington Phoenix, at which point only five matches will remain in the regular season.
Additionally, Australian Professional Leagues has confirmed two other fixture updates surrounding Western United matches as part of alterations across the league.
Next week’s Round 14 match-up against rivals Melbourne City has moved to a midweek encounter on Thursday 25 January and will be played at AAMI Park at 5:00pm.
A date has also been confirmed for Western United’s final match of the season and first trip to Gosford after the reversal of the side’s games against Central Coast.
That, too, will be a Thursday night clash on 28 March, kicking off at 7:00pm at the Mariners’ home at Industree Group Stadium.
That all helps to set up a bumper final 10 weeks of action in the Liberty A-League, with United currently sitting in sixth place on the table and looking to cement a place in the finals.
