Western United A-League Women Squad: Grand Final vs Sydney FC

Western United A-League Women

Mark Torcaso has named Western United’s first ever Liberty A-League Women Grand Final extended squad ahead of Sunday’s decider against Sydney FC.

As announced last week, United will unfortunately be without Angie Beard after the left-back suffered an injury to her foot in the Semi-Final.

United’s No.23 became a staple in Torcaso’s team and will be missed for both her quality and leadership on the pitch.

Beard has remained an integral part of United’s preparations for the Grand Final, though, and her experience on this very occasion will be highly valuable for the entire squad.

Torcaso has named an extended list of 19 players with Tiana Jaber being promoted and eying a spot in the matchday squad to cover the full-back vacancy left by Beard.

Jaber made the first of her two United appearances against Sydney FC in March having joined just prior on an injury replacement deal.

Chloe Logarzo also returns to the extended squad as she fights to be fit to play, while Francesca Iermano and Aleksandra Sinclair have also been brought into the extended list.

Torcaso and his coaching staff will continue putting the squad through its places and decide the final squad for matchday over the weekend as the Green and Black shoots for an historic Liberty A-League Championship.
