Western United A-League Women squad: Round 10 vs Sydney FC

Danielle Steer Western United

Mark Torcaso has named his extended squad ahead of Western United’s top of the table Liberty A-League Women clash against Sydney FC.

And the headline team news is that Canadian attacker Danielle Steer could make her debut after being named in the extended list for the first time.

Steer – who is an Australia passport holder and thus does not fill a foreign spot on the roster –completed her move last week and will hope to make not only her first appearance in Green and Black, but also her professional debut.

Tyla Jay Vlajnic was the match winner on Saturday as she scored the only goal in the 1-0 win over Wellington Phoenix after coming on as a substitute.

The left-back will be pushing for a place in the starting XI having been managed since a minor muscle issue saw her miss the New Year’s Day trip to Perth Glory.

Adriana Taranto is in line to make her 25th appearance in the Liberty A-League, while Chloe Logarzo returns to the extended squad after missing the Wellington match.

She will hope to line up against her former side on Wednesday night, as will young attacker Kahli Johnson who joined the Green and Black from Sydney ahead of this season.

Jaclyn Sawicki is on the brink of making her return, while Angie Beard is also nearing readiness for her United debut after joining the Club this week.
