Western United A-League Women Squad: Round 11 vs Brisbane Roar

Jessica McDonald Western United

Jessica McDonald will play her final match for Western United when the Green and Black faces Brisbane Roar at North Hobart Oval on Saturday.

The American superstar has started all eight matches so far and is included in the extended squad again before she returns to the United States at the conclusion of her guest stint.

McDonald has so far totalled two goals and one assist and been a pivotal leader in the dressing room, and the No.8 will be hoping to go out on a high.

Torcaso will welcome Melissa Taranto back into the fold after the midfielder was rested for last week’s loss to Western Sydney Wanderers.

She re-joins the squad and creates a formidable looking midfield contingent with Chloe Logarzo and Jaclyn Sawicki included again and hoping to continue to build their minutes in the centre of the pitch.

Sawicki made her first appearance for United since Round 2 on Saturday and will hope to play a larger role this weekend as she works her way back to full fitness.

Hobart local Aimee Medwin is also in the squad and will hope to make history for United, becoming the first Tasmanian player to feature in a game in the Apple Isle.

United’s No.5 has missed only one match since she joined the Club just after the start of the season and will have some extra motivation to perform in her hometown.

The Green and Black will be out to bounce back from its first defeat of the season and continue to compete at the top of the Liberty A-League table.
