Western United will play a third match Ninja A-League Women match in eight days on Saturday evening, and the extended squad is in for the trip to face Adelaide United. Full team news presented by Total 90 Studios.
The games are coming thick and fast and Western United has responded with strong showings in the past week, going toe to toe with league leaders Melbourne City before dominating Perth Glory.
With that run of form in mind, Kat Smith has stuck with an identical 18-player extended squad to the one that has been named for each of those two previous fixtures.
The squad has recovered superbly from two physical battles and will head into this Round 13 clash full of confidence.
Sandra Ibarguen and Keiwa Hieda will be out to push their way into the matchday squad as competition for places remains rife.
Adriana Taranto has been superb in two straight starts and will be eager to keep her place with Aimee Medwin pushing for a return to the starting line-up after collecting a goal and an assist off the bench on Tuesday night.
Chloe Lincoln was back in goal for that win over Perth and will hope for another opportunity here, while Isabel Dehakiz and Sara Eggesvik have also made good on their respective reinstalments to the starting XI and will have eyes on keeping that going.
The Green and Black will be out to spoil Adelaide’s five-game unbeaten run with another positive performance to continue the momentum heading into the final part of the season.
