Western United will champion the community in the West with the ‘Westside Together’ Community Round set to highlight clubs, schools and local groups on Saturday 8 March.
United’s Isuzu UTE A-League Men clash against Wellington Phoenix will not only be a fantastic spectacle on the pitch at Ironbark Fields, but there will be a whole lot more in store off it.
In the week leading up to the match, Western United players will be heading out to schools and local clubs to build the hype for the day before a host of activities capture the imagination of everyone in Tarneit.

The synthetic pitch at Ironbark Fields will be a hive of activity with crossbar challenge and target practice games inviting players to get competitive and win prizes for their club.
Junior clubs throughout the western suburbs will also be invited to a market stall-like activation on the pitch, bringing information and awareness for the upcoming junior seasons.
Around the match itself there will be the chance for some unforgettable, money-can’t-buy experiences for school and club groups, with community school partners Bacchus Marsh Grammar and Good News Lutheran College already thrusting their hands up to be involved.

There will be opportunities to watch the warm-up from pitch side or give a guard of honour to the players as they walk out before a spectacular march pass at half-time with junior footballers from all across the West being paraded around the Ironbark Fields turf.
On top of that, budding stars from Brimbank Stallions FC are already locked in for the ceremonial toss of the coin, ball delivery to the match officials and mascots for the player walk-out.
Western United General Manager of Community Development & Partnerships Aylin Bagdadi is looking forward to uniting the community next week.
“We are immensely proud of the work we have done in the community, connecting with over 80 clubs and schools and more than 5,000 young footballers in the West since moving into our home base at Ironbark Fields,” she said.
“Growing the game of football for everyone in our Western family is one of the pillars of our Club vision. We are incredibly excited to showcase this and all the amazing people in the local area at our Community Round.”

As always there will be a plethora of other things to enjoy on matchday including food and beverage options at the Western Bar & Kiosk, food trucks, mini games and a special jersey design competition in the forecourt as well as Western United merchandise, face painting and still so much more.
On the pitch, the stars are shining bright for the Green and Black as Noah Botic, Abel Walatee, Angus Thurgate and co. help to make John Aloisi’s men one of the most entertaining teams to watch in the league.
It’s all set for a magical day at Ironbark Fields, and you need to be a part of it.
