Western United Walking Football 4 Health Balestier Khalsa Football Club

Western United has come together with Walking Football 4 Health Global and Balestier Khalsa Football Club in Singapore, spreading football to all around the world.

The partnership is Western United’s first in the realm of walking football, an increasingly popular area of the game that welcomes any and all participants.

This will see Western United feature in a tournament taking place at the Walking Football 4 Health Global headquarters in Singapore this weekend as the Club amplifies involvement in the game for everyone globally.

Western United General Manager Community Development & Partnerships Aylin Bagdadi is delighted to join the Green and Black brand with a global audience to encourage participation.

“This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to grow the Western United brand and we are grateful for the support and enthusiasm of Walking Football 4 Health and Balestier Khalsa Football Club,” she said.

“More importantly, a key part of our mission at this Club has always been to increase opportunities for everyone to become involved in football, and this is a fantastic step in continuing to pursue that vision.

“Walking football is such a great way to get involved in our great game, and we are excited to link further with local and global organisations in this space.”

Walking football is especially fitting for individuals who are returning from an illness or medical event, retired players or even brand new participants in football.

A low intensity option with small-sided teams, played on a modified pitch with less game time, walking football mixes all the fun elements of the game without the high intensity.

There is no running, contact or heading of the ball allowed and the ball must remain below hip-height for the entire game.

Western United will continue to promote awareness and participation in all kinds of football across the world and is looking forward to further opportunities in the local community in the west of Victoria.
