Western United continues strong partnership with Victoria University Polytechnic

Western United is proud to remain in partnership with Victoria University (VU) Polytechnic ahead of the 2021/22 A-League season.

VU Polytechnic joined Western United as a foundation partner in its inaugural season and have been strong supporters of the club from the outset

Initially featuring on the shorts of the playing strips, VU Polytechnic is now emblazoned on the sleeves of the jerseys and feature prominently on matchday signage around the technical area and the entire ground itself.

Western United right-back and VU Polytechnic ambassador Josh Risdon is delighted to see the institution renewing its partnership with the club.

“VU Polytechnic have been a great partner of our club and I’m really glad to see that they’re staying on heading into the new season,” he said.

“It’s been a pleasure representing VU Polytechnic as the ambassador at the club and I’m excited to continue to work with them and growing alongside the football club.

“Being in lockdown, they still offer some great education opportunities and have played a big role in the community. I can’t wait to see us continuing to develop side by side.”

The university prides itself on delivering practical courses designed to benefit both students themselves and industries in the workplace.

Students are delivered real-life, relevant skills geared towards developing careers and setting them up to approach the workforce with detailed knowledge and experience.

Professor Adam Shoemaker Vice-Chancellor and President said:

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Western United – the team for Melbourne’s West.

“Our VU Polytechnic has a strong presence in the region, providing exceptional educational opportunities at our Werribee and Sunshine campuses that will help shape the future of our state. It’s clear that Western United shares our passion for the West and its incredible potential, and we look forward to maximising our partnership across the 2021/2022 Season” said Professor Shoemaker.

The club looks forward to continuing to work with VU Polytechnic for the development of young people in the community as they strive to create a better future.
