Western United Cup launches fixtures and app

Western United Cup

The Western United Cup is just three days away as talented female footballers from across Victoria prepare for the inaugural three-day tournament.

Girls teams in four different age groups will compete across the weekend, shining a light on talented female players in Ballarat at the state of the art regional facility at Morshead Park.

The Western United Cup App will serve as a one-stop shop for everything to do with the tournament for participants to refer to throughout the weekend.

The app will feature all of the latest news regarding the Western United Cup so players and parents can stay up to date with everything that is happening.

Further information will also be available on the app including the rules of competition, a venue map, privacy policy and codes of conduct as well as information on partners and sponsors that have made the event possible.

The most important part of the app over the course of the three days will be the ‘Tournament’ tab in the selection panel at the bottom of the app.

This tab will encompass the full fixture for each division in the Western United Cup and will also have updated results and ladders, making it easy to track progress through the initial group stage of the tournament.

Once the group stage is complete, the app will feature a complete ladder for each division which will form the teams entering into finals at each age group.

The competition begins late on Thursday afternoon with matches running throughout the evening before teams return for action all day on Friday.

The second day of the tournament will end with a senior exhibition match between a Calder United Under 21 side and Ballarat Soccer Club.

Saturday afternoon will see the finals for each division taking place, with winners to be crowned and some of Western United’s new Liberty A-League Women stars on hand to hand out medals and trophies on the day.

Entrants can view the fixtures on the Western United Cup website, and can search for Western United Cup on the App Store or Google Play Store to stay up to date throughout the weekend.
