Western United duo Josh Risdon and Kwabena Appiah-Kubi have made the Hyundai A-League Team of the Week for Round 5.
United came from a goal down to win 2-1 at GMHBA Stadium, registering its third win of the season.
Risdon’s performance showed why Graham Arnold selected him for the Socceroos’ upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers
In his role as a right wing-back, Risdon provided plenty of offensive threats for the Green and Black.
Meanwhile, Appiah-Kubi caused his former side problems upfront.
Called upon to start for the rested Besart Berisha, “Kabbsy” slotted home a superb winner in his starting debut for the club.
A delightful first touch allowed him to finish past Wanderers keeper Daniel Lopar, scoring his fourth career A-League goal.
Western United sit in second on the A-League table, three points off top spot.
