Western United Football Club sign local live wire Thiel Iradukunda ahead of their third friendly against North Geelong
Western United Football Club (WUFC) confirms the signing of talented young midfielder and Kings Park local Thiel (Thierry) Iradukunda as a scholarship player for the 2019/20 Hyundai A-League season.
Iradukunda was born in Burundi and moved to Melbourne in 2004, starting his football journey with Sunshine-based club Brimbank Stallions.
WUFC Head coach, Mark Rudan said Iradukunda great addition to the Western United family. “Thierry has demonstrated the right attributes and attitude since he has arrived and we look forward to seeing his development as part of the senior squad.”
Thierry is thrilled to have earned the opportunity. “As a local, I’m proud to have earned a scholarship with Western United FC.
“I’m looking forward to continue training hard, doing my best to impress the coaches and contribute to the squad this season.”
WUFC will take on North Geelong tomorrow night at City Vista Pavilion in Fraser Rise. The club will join the Hyundai A-League from the start of the 2019/20 season beginning in October this year.
