Western United fixture confirmed for first full season at Ironbark Fields

Western United fans, mark your calendars – the fixtures are locked in for our first ever full Isuzu UTE A-League Men season at Ironbark Fields.

The first game back at our sacred venue will be a Sunday afternoon corker against Western Sydney Wanderers on 27 October, kicking off at 4pm AEDT.

Coming in Round 2 of the campaign, that will follow a special opening fixture away against Wellington Phoenix on Sunday 20 October.

The season opener will fall just over five years to the day from when Western United played its first ever match, defeating Phoenix 1-0 courtesy of Besart Berisha’s historic goal.

After officially moving into Ironbark Fields earlier this year, the 2024/25 season will mark a new chapter for Western United with 11 of 13 home fixtures already pencilled in at the Club’s home.

The venues of the remaining fixtures, against local rivals Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory, are listed as TBC as the Club works with relevant stakeholders to determine locations.

The Club remains committed to hosting all home matches in our heartland in Tarneit where permitted.

Other matches of note include the visit of Macarthur FC on Saturday 7 December, one which is sure to bring back fond memories of the inaugural Isuzu UTE A-League match at Ironbark Fields in April.

United’s first-ever meeting with Auckland FC will be the final fixture before Christmas with an away trip on Saturday 21 December.

The Green and Black will then face the league’s new boys twice at home, including in the final match of the season slated for Saturday 3 May.

Perth Glory will be the other team United plays thrice this season – once in the previously announced Unite Round, once in Perth to kick off 2025 and once at Ironbark at the beginning of April.

A four-game stretch in January will be the perfect opportunity for Western United fans to enjoy some thrilling summer action with away fixtures against City and Victory and home ties against Newcastle Jets and Central Coast Mariners all coming in a row.
