Western United is home: Thank you, Green and Black family

Western United fans at Ironbark Fields

Western United has completed the first chapter of the move to its new home in Tarneit, celebrating five fantastic matches in an incredible month.

The most special part of the journey was, after the final match on Tuesday night, being able to welcome the entire Green and Black family onto the pitch for a family photo.

It has been a monumental effort from everyone associated with the Club to see the journey through at the Regional Football Facility with the broader Western United family playing an integral role.

Our members, fans, partners and investors have been with us since day one, following us to each stadium we have played in and wholeheartedly backing the Club’s ambitious journey.

Now, that faith is repaid. Seeing everyone in our community come together in our home on Tuesday night will remain one of the most special moments of the 2023/24 season.

It’s not only those who have been behind us from the beginning, too. Our family has grown as we have welcomed countless Tarneit locals who are jumping on board for the first time. To all those that have enjoyed their first game here in Tarneit, we thank you and look forward to sharing more memories with you.

Crowds have packed out the Regional Football Facility, starting with our Liberty A-League Women opener on 17 March, moving into our thrilling 4-2 Isuzu UTE A-League Men win over Macarthur FC and an historic double header and first-ever home final in Tarneit.

The final outing against Adelaide United on Tuesday was the perfect send-off with a dramatic late equaliser, a fantastic mid-week crowd and a magnificent atmosphere on the pitch at the end of the game.

The West is truly home, and you have all made this happen. In just one month, you have made our home the most special place to be.

As we look ahead to our first home games in the 2024/25 season, we will all be working together to make it an even better experience for all of our Green and Black family.

But before we get there, we still have two more Isuzu UTE A-League matches and plenty of games in Tarneit for our Academy sides, so make sure you keep up the support all the way.

Thank you, Green and Black family. Western is home.

Get in early to express your interest in a 2024/25 Western United membership. We can’t wait to see you in Tarneit next season.
