Western United has dropped an iconic set of playing kits for the 2024/25 A-Leagues season, combining with Kappa to create some instant classics.
Announced with the glorious backdrop of the historical Werribe Park Mansion, an icon of the West in itself, the bold new designs will be catching the eye across the country this season.
With a retro style and some beautiful highlights across the strip, the new home kit pays homage to the inaugural Western United kit with a few modern twists.
Of course, the iconic Green and Black stripes remain, but this year’s edition returns to the solid green stripe in a lighter tone as it was in season one.
There is also more green on the kit than ever before with five thinner green columns across the front of the jersey.
The inaugural kit featured a pointed neck design, and that is accentuated this year with the first ever collar on a Western United kit, featuring a sleek green trim.
Perhaps the most exciting addition to this year’s kits is the classic Kappa banding with the Omini logo featuring all the way down the side of the jersey, an iconic look of any Kappa apparel down the years.
That mix of retro and modernisation carries into an all-new look for the Western United away kit, one that is sure to be an instant hit.
For the first time, United’s alternative strip is not white. This season, a sublime faded mint green design creates one of the sharpest kits in the Club’s catalogue to date.
There are still hints of white throughout the strip with narrow pinstripes across the jersey and trimming on the collar and sleeve cuffs, complementing striking black touches around the jersey.
The mint green colour is associated with new beginnings, and this is certainly a new beginning for Western United with a first full season at home at Ironbark Fields in Tarneit for both Isuzu UTE A-League Men and Ninja A-League Women squads.
A faint diamond pattern features in the background of the blue goalkeeper kit this season, with United’s shot stoppers also set to feature in yellow and purple across the season.
The iconic new kits are live on the Western United online store and pre-orders are available, shipping from mid-October.
