Western United legend Andrew Durante will depart the Club at the conclusion of his contract, bringing an end to six incredible years of service to the Green and Black.
After 45 appearances for the Club as a foundation player, Durante returned to the West following a brief hiatus to begin his role as Player Welfare & Development Manager in 2022.

Durante then joined the Senior Academy coaching staff in 2023, working with no less than nine young talents who went on to earn their first senior contracts at the Club.
That led the former No.4 to an assistant role under John Aloisi across the past two seasons, playing a particularly integral role in a record-breaking 2024/25 campaign.
After confirming his departure from Western United, Durante was full of fond memories and gratitude over the six-year journey.
“It’s been a very special journey for me. To have been recruited as a player in the Club’s inaugural season and to help create the Club’s culture and values has been a real honour,” he said.
“Transitioning from a player to then moving into coaching, helping bring players through the Academy and then going into a senior assistant role, I’m really proud of the progression made at the football club I want to wish everyone all the very best for the future.”

Western United General Manager of Football Mal Impiombato said Durante’s position as a Club legend would remain forever.
“From the beginning of our story as a Club, we set out to add exemplary people to our program and Dura has been the perfect example of that,” he said.
“He was pivotal in setting the foundations of our Club as a player and has continued that impact to help grow our Academy pathway and contribute to an historic Isuzu UTE A-League Men season.
“As an organisation, we are indebted to the commitment, dedication and expertise of Dura across the last six years.
“Our doors will always be open for him and his family and we wish him every success in the future.”
Everyone at Western United recognises Durante’s significant contribution to the Club’s success and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
